Participation Terms & Conditions

Muralists

1. Application and Selection:

a. Artists must submit a completed application to be considered for participation in the Bold Murals Exhibition.

b. East Coast Zoological Society LLC (ECZS) dba Brevard Zoo (BZ), reserves the right to select artists based on the relevance of their work to the exhibition theme, artistic merit, and available space.

2. Acceptance and Confirmation:

a. The initial round of selected muralist will be notified of their acceptance by 1/9/24 and are required to confirm their participation by 1/13/24.

b. Failure to confirm participation by the deadline may result in the selection of an alternate artist.

c. Confirmed artists will have to sign a separate artist agreement that outlines terms and conditions for Brevard Zoo

3. Mural Creation:

a. Artists are responsible for creating an original mural during the exhibition within the designated time frame.

b. Murals must adhere to the exhibitions theme and be suitable for public display.

  • Please keep your designs appropriate to this family friendly event (PG13). No nudity/lude acts, drugs, curse words, politics, violence or racism of any kind.

4. Materials and Logistics:

a. Artists are responsible for providing their own materials and tools required for mural creation.​ This does not include the wall itself.

b. ECZS will coordinate logistics, including wall assignments.

c. Paint being used by artists must be brushed on the wall. No spray cans. 

5. Intellectual Property:

a. This will be outlined in the artist agreement for each selected muralist

6. Code of Conduct:

a. Artists must adhere to a professional code of conduct and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the exhibition.

b. We will have a location for artists to take breaks during the exhibition but please be considerate to the people that had came to watch your talent and don’t take breaks that are hours long.

c. Any behavior that violates local laws, regulations, or the exhibition's guidelines may result in disqualification and removal from the event.

7. Insurance:

a. Artists are required to carry their own liability insurance.

b. ECZS will not be held liable for any damage, loss, or injury that occurs during the exhibition.

8. Compensation:

a. Participating artists will receive a $1,500 stipend and other outlined opportunities will be included in the artist agreement once selected

9. Cancellation:

a. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Bold Murals Exhibition organizers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event.

b. Artists will be notified promptly in case of cancellation or rescheduling.

10. Agreement Acknowledgment:

a. By confirming participation, artists acknowledge that they have read and agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement.
